Settling in at kindergarten

Settling in to daycare is an exciting adventure for families. During this time, your child will make new friends and have lots of fun.

How does the acclimatization to daycare work?

• Getting to know the daycare center: At the beginning, you will visit the daycare center with your child at the same time every day. Your child has the opportunity to get to know the caregiver.
• Slow familiarization: Your child will gradually become accustomed to the new environment. You accompany him or her, but remain in the background.
• First moment of separation: After a few days, you leave your child alone with the caregiver for a few minutes for the first time. We will support you with this.
• Longer separation times: If things are going well, the separation times will become longer and longer.
• Several hours at the daycare center: After a while, your child will stay with us for several hours. We will keep you up to date.

Important tips for settling into the daycare center

• Your child can bring a familiar object with them, for example a cuddly toy
• The duration of the settling-in period depends on your child's needs. Give your child time to settle in.
