We are currently looking for a qualified

English-speaking early childhood education professional (m/f/d)

in part time (30 hours per week) to help implement the Fröbel Focus “Bilingual Education” at our early childhood education and care service Flipflopz in Berlin-Friedrichshain.

At our kindergarten a dedicated and experienced team is looking after 68 children from 1 year to 6 years of age. Bilingual education, as well as sience education (investigation and experimentation) are focus areas at the centre. The rooms are modernly equipped according to the latest knowledge of interior design in kindergartens. The outdoor area offers children space to play and to discover.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Supporting all aspects of early childhood education and care in English,
  • Being in charge of (or supporting according to experience and qualification) the settling-in process,
  • Planning, implementing and documenting pedagogical processes and daily routines (as part of a team),
  • Completing (or supporting according to experience and qualification) structured observation and documentation of the children’s development and educational processes,
  • Developing successful cooperation with parents.
  • From time to time there would be the requirement to also support the teams at our Fröbel centres Pufendorfstraße or Freudenberg (max. 3km from our Flipflopz centre respectively) .

Do you fulfil the following requirements?

  • Are you in the process of learning German? Proven German language skills on level B2 are a requirement for this position.
  • Are you a state-certified educator (staatlich anerkannnte:r Erzieher:in) or do you have a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or similar qualification? Are you interested in developing your professional skills?
  • Would you like to learn more about education policies in Germany and how these are being implemented in practice?
  • Do you believe that children should have opportunities to encounter foreign languages at an early age and that they should define their own learning experience?
  • Are you interested in working as part of a team to design and implement an in-house bilingual education concept?

In addition, once you have successfully completed your probationary period, we offer you the opportunity to take part in the qualification to become a Marte Meo Practitioner. . Marte Meo is a resourced-orientied method of development support that increases the quality of interaction and expands the communication repertoire.

We are offering:

  • Job shadowing and exchange opportunities with Fröbel centres in Germany and abroad (Australia),
  • A salary according to the Fröbel in-house wage agreement, the only collective wage agreement that takes further training and education into account for advancement, guarantees fixed preparation and follow-up times and offers a reduction in working hours for older employees,
  • 33 days of holiday per year, December 24 and 31 paid days off,
  • Choose between a €46.55 subsidy for the Deutschlandticket and a €50 Fröbel BenefitCard* or up to €99 mobility allowance for a JobRad* - pro rata for part-time employees,
  • 733 Euro allowance for completing the “Online-Fröbel-Curriculum” in the first six months,
  • A company pension scheme of 4% paid by the employer, as well as an annual bonus payment,
  • A company tablet – at this stage not available at all locations – please enquire during recruitment process, as well as
  • Up to 600 Euro bonus payment for the successful recommendation of a recognised early childhood educator (“Fachkraft”) and access to the discount portals “Corporate Benefits” and “Benefits.me”.

*Entitlement after six months (probationary period) in accordance with the company collective agreement
